Nothing beats personal knowledge of an area you want to live. When we first meet, the first questions I will ask is where are you wanting to live and are you familiar with the traffic patterns in that area. If you work at home, then traffic is not a issue but, if you have to drive to work, it can be a major issue every day and you don’t want this if you can avoid it. I will help you understand the density of the present and future traffic patterns and then we will know more about where a good place to live will be. School selection will be important if you have school age kids.
Knowing location and the children situation, we move to the “filter” for our search: city location, home prices, square footage, lot size and other points of interest like you want a one story or two, master suite location and perhaps a pool. Once we have identified the key search terms and I have began the search, you will receive one or many reports, if there are a number of locations. McKinney is a city in the northeastern part of the state of Texas, in the United States. It is located about 32 miles (51 kilometers) north of Dallas and is the county seat of Collin County. Situated in high-growth Collin County and nestled next to Allen and Fairview and on the North end, Anna and Melissa, TX. What is the History of McKinney, TX?
McKinney, TX has a rich history that dates back to the mid-1800s. The city was founded in 1848 as a small settlement along the banks of Wilson Creek, and was named after Collin McKinney, one of the five men who drafted the Texas Declaration of Independence.
In the late 1800s, McKinney became a center of commerce and trade for the surrounding agricultural community. The city’s economy was based on cotton production and processing, and the arrival of the railroad in 1872 helped to boost the local economy even further.
During the early 1900s, McKinney continued to grow and develop. The city became home to a number of prominent businesses, including banks, mercantile stores, and cotton gins. In 1913, the McKinney Cotton Mill was established, which brought jobs and economic growth to the area.
In the mid-20th century, McKinney’s economy shifted away from agriculture and towards manufacturing and technology. The city became home to a number of high-tech companies, including Raytheon and Texas Instruments.
Today, McKinney is a thriving city with a diverse economy, a vibrant historic downtown area called The Square where five star restaurants and shopping gather around the county court house, and a rich cultural heritage contributed by its founder Collin McKinney. The city has preserved many of its historic buildings and landmarks, including the Collin County Courthouse, which was built in 1875 and is still in use today’s as it house the McKinney Performing Arts Theater and meeting rooms.
